Effective Date: March 12, 2026
Intention (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the Intention mobile application and the website tryintention.app. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your information when you use our app and services.
By using Intention, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the app.
1. Information We Collect
a. Information You Provide
- Email address — collected when you create an account, used for authentication and account communications. This data is linked to your identity.
b. Information Collected Automatically
- Device identifier — a unique device ID used for analytics purposes. This data is not linked to your identity.
- Usage analytics and product interaction data — information about how you interact with the app (e.g., features used, screens viewed, session data). This data is not linked to your identity.
- Purchase history — records of in-app purchases and subscription status, managed through our payment provider. This data is not linked to your identity.
c. Screen Time and App Usage Data
Intention uses Apple's Screen Time APIs — including FamilyControls, ManagedSettings, and DeviceActivity — to help you manage and limit your app usage. This data is primarily processed on your device and is not transmitted to our servers in identifiable form.
To provide you with personalized screen time insights and analytics, we may collect and store your app usage data on our servers in association with your account. This allows you to view your screen time history, track trends, and understand your habits over time across devices.
We may also use app usage data in anonymized or aggregated form to improve our service, develop new features, and enhance the overall user experience. Anonymized data cannot be used to identify you personally.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Authentication — to create and manage your account and verify your identity.
- Core functionality — to deliver app-blocking, challenge, and screen time management features.
- Subscription management — to process purchases, manage your subscription status, and handle billing.
- Push notifications — to send you relevant reminders, updates, and motivational prompts (with your permission).
- Analytics and improvement — to understand how the app is used, diagnose issues, and improve performance and features.
- Communication — to respond to support requests and send important service-related notices.
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate and improve Intention. Each service has its own privacy policy governing its use of your data:
- Supabase — authentication and backend infrastructure. Privacy Policy
- Google Sign-In — optional authentication method. Privacy Policy
- RevenueCat — subscription and purchase management. Privacy Policy
- OneSignal — push notification delivery. Privacy Policy

We do not sell your personal information to any third party.
4. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide our services and fulfill the purposes described in this policy.
- Account data — retained for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from within the app.
- On-device data — Screen Time configurations, app-blocking settings, and challenge history stored locally on your device are cleared when you delete your account or uninstall the app.
- Server-side data — when you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize all personal data associated with your account on our servers within 30 days. Some anonymized or aggregated data that cannot be used to identify you may be retained for analytical purposes.
- Third-party data — upon account deletion, we initiate removal of your data from third-party services where technically feasible. Refer to each provider's privacy policy for their specific retention practices.
5. Data Security
We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction — request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
- Deletion — request that we delete your personal data. You can also delete your account directly within the app at any time.
- Portability — request a copy of your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Opt-out — you may opt out of push notifications through your device settings and limit analytics collection through the app's settings.
