Terms of Service

1. Description of the Service

Intention is an iOS application designed to help users manage their screen time and build healthier digital habits. The App uses Apple's Screen Time APIs to allow users to set app-blocking restrictions. To regain access to blocked apps, users must complete math challenges configured within the App. The Service is intended as a self-improvement tool and is not a parental control or device management solution.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, subscribing to a plan, or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 17 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

3. Account Registration and Security

To use certain features of the Service, you may be required to create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
• Keep your login credentials secure and confidential.
• Notify us immediately at support@tryintention.app if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
• Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Subscription Terms and Pricing

4.1 Plans and Pricing

Intention offers the following subscription tiers:

• Monthly: $9.99 per month
• Annual: $59.99 per year
• Lifetime: $149.99 one-time purchase

Prices are in U.S. dollars and may vary by region based on App Store pricing. We reserve the right to change pricing at any time, but changes will not affect active subscription periods.

4.2 Free Trial

Monthly and Annual plans include a 3-day free trial for eligible new subscribers. You will not be charged during the trial period. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription and you will be charged the applicable subscription fee. Free trial eligibility is determined by Apple and is limited to one trial per Apple ID.

4.3 Auto-Renewal

Monthly and Annual subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the rate of your selected plan.

4.4 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through Apple's subscription management:

1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
2. Tap your name at the top, then tap Subscriptions.
3. Select Intention and tap Cancel Subscription.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access to premium features until that date. We do not provide refunds for partial billing periods.

4.5 Payment Processing

All payments are processed through Apple's App Store. We do not directly collect or store your payment information. All billing inquiries, refund requests, and payment disputes should be directed to Apple.

5. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations.
• Attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with the App's blocking or challenge mechanisms through unauthorized means.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the App.
• Distribute, sublicense, lease, or otherwise transfer your access to the Service to third parties.
• Introduce viruses, malware, or any other harmful code through or into the Service.
• Use automated systems, bots, or scripts to interact with the Service without our prior written consent.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including but not limited to its design, text, graphics, logos, icons, images, software, and all other content, is the exclusive property of Intention and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.

7. App Blocking Functionality Disclaimer

Intention relies on Apple's Screen Time APIs and related system frameworks to provide app-blocking functionality. You acknowledge and agree that:

• The app-blocking feature depends on system-level APIs provided by Apple, and its availability, reliability, and behavior are subject to Apple's operating system updates, changes, and restrictions.
• We do not guarantee that app blocking will function without interruption, error, or delay at all times or on all devices.
• Certain system apps, critical functions, or apps designated by Apple may not be blockable.
• The Service is provided as a self-discipline and habit-building tool. It is not designed to be an infallible restriction mechanism and should not be relied upon as the sole means of preventing access to any application.
• We are not responsible for any consequences arising from the App's blocking features failing to activate, deactivating unexpectedly, or otherwise not performing as expected.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant that the App will achieve any particular results regarding your screen time habits or productivity. Your use of the Service is at your own risk.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Intention, its officers, directors, employees, agents, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the Service.

In no event shall our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service exceed the amount you have paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or one hundred U.S. dollars ($100), whichever is greater.

10. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time through the account settings within the App. Upon deletion, your account data will be permanently removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Active subscriptions must be cancelled separately through Apple's subscription management before or after account deletion to prevent further charges.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we determine, in our sole discretion, violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or third parties.

11. Modifications to Terms

We may update or modify these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and may notify you via in-app notification. Your continued use of the Service after the revised Terms become effective constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service and cancel your subscription.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the State of Delaware.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

14. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Intention regarding your use of the Service and supersede all prior agreements and communications.
